THE EYES HAVE IT BY RUSKIN BOND Summary of the text: The Eyes Have It by Ruskin Bond is an ironical short story. It is a story of two blind persons. The story begins on a train. The narrator is already on the train compartment and going to Mussoorie to Dehradun. At Rohana , a girl, accompanied by her anxious parents got into his compartment. Her parents were very anxious about her comfort so after giving a detailed instructions made their good bye. In the compartment the narrator first started to communicate with her.Asked her some casual questions and came to know that she is going to Saharanpur where her aunt will come to pick her up. The narrator wanted to impress her and hid his blindness. Time and again he  praised her voice and face. He remarked" you have an interesting face".But the girl did not stop him as very few of the girls resist flattery.  Assertive sentence refers to the sentence by which we describe something.For example  Rima eats rice . To change the voice we have to identify the sentence then mark the subject and object. R ima  eats rice  .   (active voice) here Rima is the subject of the sentence and rice is the object. so to  change the sentence into passive voice we need to follow some steps one by one. 1.First make the  object of the active voice subject  2. use be verb according to the new subject (am/is/are) as the sentence is in presentence 3.use 3rd form of the main verb 4.use By  5.use object form of the subject of the active voice by following these rules the passive voice will be Rice is eaten by Rima

The are three types of voice.they are Active Voice, passive Voice,and less used Quasi Passive Voice. Active Voice: in this voice subject is given priority.For example- Ram plays football Passive Voice: in this voice object is given priority.For example- Football is played by Ram Quasi Passive Voice: It does not follow any rules.It is less in use.For example- Honey is sweet (active voice) Honey is sweet when it is tested (Quasi Passive Voice) Rules of doing Voice change: there are some rules which we must follow to change the voice. 1.identify the verb or action 2.ask" who"has  done the action to find out the subject of the sentence 3.Then ask what or whom did the action. 4.After identifying subject , verb and object underline them 5.Now write the object you have found  6.use auxiliary verb(am,is are,was, were) according to the tense of the main verb. 7.Use past participle form of the main verb 8.use "by" in most of the cases . ...

There are five moods in which we express our thoughts and feelings or what we want to write or say.Here we are going to discuss five types of sentences which are divided according to the mood.They are - 1.Assertive sentence : It's also known as declarative sentence or statement.we use this sentence for passing general information or fact.some examples are- 1.Ram eats rice. 2.Akbar was the emperor of India.  3.I go to school. 4.The earth movers round the sun,etc. 2.Interrogative sentence This type of sentence is used to ask or enquire about something.It always starts with WH (what, where ,when,how,who),or auxiliary verb(am/is/are/have/has) or do verb (do/did/done/does) or a modal(can/would/could) and ends with a question mark (?) Some examples are-1.What is your name? 2. Sentence What is sentence? Ans: To  make you understand sentence I am giving you an example. Have you ever seen a train? If yes then how is it? A train is made up of some compartment and the engine Pulls all the compartment. Similarly the engine is the subject (doer). look at the picture bellow. So to define , sentence is a group of words which has a sense or meaning.For example-Ram eats rice.Here Ram is the subject or engine of the sentence. Types of sentence Sentence can be divided according to the mood and structure. In my next blog I will discuss each of them elaborately. 

I have discussed about present indefinite,  continuous and perfect tense. Now I am going to discuss present perfect continuous:  in this tense the action has started long ago and is  still going on. For example Dhoni has been playing cricket for 10 years.
